cuenca + last week
so last friday we went on another free trip to Cuenca, a small city about 2 hours away from us. Cuenca is gorgeous, and also famous for its casas colgadas, which are houses built out off of a cliff, quite crazy actually. We went to a modern art museum which was interesting but the tour was very long (and we all know i'm not a huge fan of guided tours) and then we went through the cathedral and had the rest of the day free. I wasn't feeling well but i sucked it up because i'm in spain for crying out loud! we ended up walking around the cute little streets and finally out onto this cliff - believe it or not i ventured out kind of to the edge, you'd all be proud - and had an amazing view of the ravine with all the casas colgadas and could see all the city. overall it was really fun. i stayed in most of last weekend other than that to study and recoup a bit from being sick, which i still am a bit, but my host mom gave me these amazing pills that work like magic and i feel great now. tomorrow we have a field trip to the valley of the fallen and Franco's palace so that should be really interesting, i'll post pictures and everything right away!! Mommo i hope you're feeling better!! Love you all, un besito!

hi natalie! i just read your post from yesterday, how cool. i am sorry to hear you aren't feeling the best, but would really appreciate it if you bring me back some of those pills when you return! JK! i quit my job last friday, and started at a new company this week. the new company is called ikaria and its in madison also. so far, i am very hapy to have changed jobs. lost some computer crap, but no big deal. i was at last job for 15 years, OMG. i was getting to be like a lamp or something there, they were starting to vacuum around me. i think sometimes change can be good. i am helping with medal league vball and sarah is a very good player. i hope you get to see her sometime when you are home again. she is so nice, what a treat to be around. chip off the ole block i think :) i hope to bike with your dad this summer. i would like to do that. i hope you are feeling better. it sounds like you are seeing and doing many wonderful things. thank you for posting and pictures. we miss you natalie, take care, love ya, john

That sounds so cool nat! And as for getting out on that ledge-I'm very proud of you, especially since you weren't crawling on your hands and knees :) I'm glad you're taking advantage of all these cool traveling experiences. at the rate you're going you're gonna see the whole country before you come back :)
ReplyDeleteNot much new here. It's got to the 80's this last weekend, which was lovely. I spent almost the whole day sunday at the Raleigh flea market. They had all kinds of stuff. I got an old black onyx ring that I think you would approve of.
Keep the posts coming!
Love ya sis!
